First of all, make sure that your drivers are up to date, especially your graphic card drivers. Also, making sure that your system meets the minimum requirements is a must, otherwise you know the reason why it’s not working.

If these two things are passed and you still have problems with Aliens: Colonial Marines Crashes, here is what you can try to do:

1. Unplug any extra controllers you might have plugged in to your computer (or any USBs that are not required for your computer to run). Sometimes, some games crash because of this.

2. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

3. Try running the game in Admin mode.

4. Some players are reporting that crashes might be related to a misconfiguration of the language of the game. First, try to set your language in regional to English UK, then exit Steam and restart it, then play the game. If this doesn’t fix the problem, put the unicode language back to your system’s language, set Steam to use the same language and reinstall the game with that language.

A modder has released a new mod for Aliens: Colonial Marines which seeks to address enemy AI and speed.

Created by TemplarGFX (via Eurogamer), ACM Overhaul boosts the speed and aggression of the Xenomorphs, as well as tweaking the in-game environment to improve realism and atmosphere, which includes changes to lighting, shadow, weaponry, ballistics, and animations. The modder has even scaled down enemy health to compensate for their improved speed.

'Experience Aliens: Colonial Marines how it should have been when it came out,' states TemplarGFX on Moddb. 'Heavily balanced and play-tested for exciting, suspenseful and most importantly, FUN gameplay.'

'Xenomorph's have seen the most work fixing their behavior and mechanics to make them truly terrifying foes to face, dramatically shifting the tone of the entire campaign.
